DNZ scope mounts..

I keep seeing these pop up. I am building another handi. This one a shorty and am thinking of trying them.

Am I going to regret it? Will they match up to my beloved PRW Leupold rings on a factory ultra base?

Who has them? What do you think? Would you buy/use them again?

But, the idea is interesting everything fixed so it cant shoot loose

I like it... it's just like the mount on my cva scout.

I have one.  If you have a heavy kicker, loctite the screws and clean all mounting surfaces.  There are only two screws per ring.  I broke a Bushnell on the 500 mag with it.  Now have it on a BCC 45LC with Lupy vxii 2-7.  Burris Fastfire on the 500 now.  I like the BFF but it cost as much as the gun did.

I have them on a couple of Handi's, and I like them. They are very light, despite looking bulky. I weighted them, when putting together an ultra-light .30-30, and they weigh less then an aluminum base with steel Weaver ringers.
They also have less things to work loose.

Sounds like a very well designed mount.
Would someone who actually has one of these mounted on thier Handi please post a pic of it?
I'd love to see the scope clearance, and the fore and aft adjustment.

The light and "trimness" look of it has me intrigued.

As I mentioned I'm building up a shorty, light weight, med range deer handi.

Slufoot, I agree, any pics of one mounted on a handi with a scope would be greatly appreciated!

  I have a set on my 30-30 Handi and have found them to be a great product. I will snap some pics when I return later this evening. My only regret was buying the high height mounts. I wish I would have gone with either the medium or low height after shortening the hammer.

 I saw the high setups average .719. I went down and measured the factory base and the PRW LO ring on one of mine and came up with just shy of .700 so figured the extra .19 wouldn't be bad. 
 Can you measure yours and let me know what the height is? From the top of the barrel to bottom of the scope.

Unfortunately DNZ only makes high and extra high ring mounts for H&Rs.  :-\

I called them and  asked for a medium and they told me it would not clear the hammer. I told them about trimming the hammer and they kind of told me very few folks would do that and it would not be worth making for a few folks that did it. I can't really say that I blame them. I just ordered a medium for one of my KP1 barrels and it will be fun to see how it works out.

  It's a bit difficult to measure the height while it's assembled. My mount is the High mount, so the average height should be around .719". Good thing is...it's clears my front sight. ;D Here are the pics:

I have a DNZ high size on my 30-30.  I have had no problems.  No hammer work on mine and the hammer just clears.  You have to slide your thumb under the scope in front of the hammer.  Thumb with no gloves on is a tight fit.

 It does look good. Nice and clean. Do you think its any lighter? I realize it would be a minuscule weight savings if any. But what to  you think?

I hate to impose any further, but do you have any closeups showing hammer clearance?  ::)

  I can't tell of a weight difference. Lemme see what I can do for hammer clearance, the 30-30's receiver is getting coated this week. I forgot the barrel at home or it would be gone too. BRB

 Top pic tells me exactly what I needed to know!!!

I ordered one today! So I'll get to see first hand!! Now I gotta decide on a scope for the shorty.... Of coarse it will be a Leupold, but what Leupold??? I'm thinking M8 2.5, 3 or 4X. I have another VXII 2x7 on the shelf...

Maybe a round of scope shuffle...

In the non Leupy catagory, I have a new to me Redfield 2x7 coming too, then there is the Burris 4X compact. I also have a old Bushnell Banner 1x4 with a post X hair............. ::)

OH the problems I seem to create for myself.  ;D  :o
