Need 7mm-08 pet load for encore handgun
« on: November 28, 2010, 04:35:27 AM »
I am going to start reloading for an encore w/15" barrel 9" twist. I was wanting to try the Berger VLD 140 grain bullets. would this bullet be OK or should I go w/ something different? I've heard good things about this Bullet, but, I'm open for suggestions. I will primarily be using this on Indiana whitetail.
Does anyone have any sugestions on Bullet, powder, and primers? Let's hear some of your pet loads for the 7mm-08 in an Encore handgun w/fifteen inch barrel!

I don't have an Encore, I have a Striker in 7-08. My favorite load, 140 Nosler BT, Varget powder, Remington brass and CCI200 primer. Velocity runs 2450 fps out of a 14" barrel. I have been fortunate to have shot 3 whitetails with this gun. All shots where from 30 - 50 yards. No bullets exited but all 3 deer fell within 30 yards. I believe two holes are better than one, but a 140 grain ballistic tip through the lungs does the job.      lnewby
