50 cal. muzzle loader barrels.
« on: November 29, 2010, 05:52:12 AM »

Just to let you all know. H&R is now making the 50 cal. Muzzle loader barrels again. We have about 200 of them in stock, standard blue finish at this time.  The stainless is still not available yet.

That's great news and thanks for the info. I am sure the newly available barrels will please many here. If I did not currently have two after just selling another to a forum member or I would be tempted to order one myself....<><....:)

Muzzle loader season is over here for the year, but that sounds like just the ticket for next season!

Thanks for the great news Brian, I posted a link to this thread in a current thread asking about them in the Huntsman/Sidekick forum.

Did you make any upgrades in the ignition system?

thanks,

Brian56 the barrel accessory program still list them as unavailable.  I am REALLY hoping that they just havn't updated the website!  :( :o ??? :-\ :'(  Can you get to the bottom of this & clear it up for us?

That's probably because you talked to Customer Support in Madison NC, the barrels are in Ilion NY where Brian works, if you really want one, send your frame in with an order before they're all gone!  ;)

I will do that.  Is there a phone number I can call beforehand to take care of all the details before I send the frame in to them?  I have some questions like:

Do the forearm, ramrod, and adapters for the primers come together in a kit?

Are the barrels drilled and tapped for a scope rail and could I it get included?

Can I purchase additional adapters for the primers?

Do I need to send in the butt stock or just the frame?

By the way, the number I called this morning was 866-776-9292.

Thanks for the help....

That's the CS number in Madison NC, the acc barrel list states what is included with the barrel, all H&R rifle barrels are drilled and tapped for a scope rail, you'll have to add the rail/hammer extension and add'l carriers to the order form, since it comes with a forend, all you have to send is the frame and butt.

2007 is the last latest price list I have, they were $85 and $113 for blued and SS then, other barrels have gone up about $20-$30 or so to give you an idea of what they are now, Brian is working on getting the website updated.

That's because you called Customer Support in Madison NC, the barrels are in Ilion NY, CS won't put them on the website until they have 500 in stock, when Brian posted this, they had 200 in stock.

Can I order one through ny? Cant seem to find any other phone number to call except nc. The gent I talked to said all barrel orders must go through the nc plant. Is that correct?

Acc barrel orders are sent to Ilion NY, Madison does the billing, read the acc barrel page on the website, if I wanted a barrel, I'd send the order in with a credit card number on the order forum, I think they'll contact you with the amount due if you wanted to pay by check, there is no public number for Ilion that I'm aware of.

I don't know about changes to the breech plug.  It came with a ramrod, forearm, and primer carriers.

It's easy to pop the primer carrier off of the barrel.
