If anything, I can see these leaks exposing the lies and hypocracy of our politicians. All this did was get all the secrets and lies both good and bad out in the open for everyone to know. Maybe if this happens more often people in our government will remember that we live in a time without secrets and that we're accountable to the voters who put us in. I don't see this endangering our troops because there's no secret that we're at war. If the leaks were giving away the plan of attack the night before that'd be one thing, but we've been overseas for almost 10 years now, what exactly is so secret about that?
Some don't seem to realize that there are reasons, very credible reasons, for security classifications. We held the nuclear science information for as long as we could after the detonations over Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and for very good reasons ! MacArthur didn't spill the beans about his planned invasion at Inchon, during the Korean conflict...only made sense. Reagan didn't blab his mouth over the Grenada operation..although some stupid congressmen did. Still, those congressmen were such an &%#@, that nobody took them seriously...till too latefor the communists trying to claim Grenada.
Geo H W Bush didn't 'telegraph' his strike at Panama. Even today, we don't tell everybody exactly hao many weapons and of what type, we provide for our dependable allies either.
To think for one minute that everything on a national level should be completely transparent, is a juvenile view. Transparency often is of no benefit anyway..millions of us told voters that Obammy is a phony..but still, the bigger half of voters were completely fooled !
