Anyone Here Shoot A.......

Anyone here shoot a .416?  Remington, Rigby Weatherby, etc.?  If so what have you shot with yours so far?  I have a Ruger M77 Magnum in .416 Rigby.  So far the only thing I taken with it are two hogs, both over the 250 lb. mark.  I choose the Rigby because of it's versatility.  I can load it down to Remington standards or up to near Weatherby velocities.  Great cartridge.  Lawdog

Lawdog,
I chose the 416 Taylor a couple of years ago and have loved it since. It has been carried frequently on outings when after Brownies or as back up to others in brownie country. To date it has been used infrequently. Total count is one brown bear, 1 coyote and one fox. I must add that it has "pointed down" on at least six occasions bears that made the correct choice of leaving the area. 400 grains @ 2,350 is a marvelous confidence builder!
best,
bhtr
ps. The yote and fox had absolutely zero pelt damage and adorn my living room wall as we speak. I do think that the weight of this rifle will curtail any normal use as a fur-bearer collector!

In a departure from the norm, I'm going to give you the bottom line right from the start: The CZ 550 Safari Magnum is an excellent rifle. Anyone wanting a practical, dependable, big-bore hunting rifle could hardly do better at any price. At the suggested retail price of $833 it's an outstanding value

BTW ITS VERY EASY TO GET 2500 FPS FROM A 400 GRAIN BULLET IN A 416 RIGBY, AND WITH ITS SLIGHTLY BETTER SECTIONAL DENSITY THAN A 458 BULLET THAT CAN MEAN BETTER LONG RANGE TRAJECTORY
