I think technically, they are very similar, but i do like the fact that you don't have to open an S&S as far to reload. I have both and i like the feel of the S&S MUCH better,

Especially in a shotgun. I've been shooting this Remington since i was a kid, as dad bought it "used" in the 40's, for ten dollars.

When i was a kid, i kept a Savage "four tenner" in the right bbl. to shoot "sitting" game with, (i still have it) keeping the left bbl for "flying" game. lol
As an adult, i purchased a Krieghoff "long", 22WMR insert bbl for the right bbl., and used this shotgun as a combo gun for small game.
Anyway, make mine a S&S.
