7x57 FN Mauser

I bought a rifle that was marked custom Mauser at a local shop for $180. It had a poor stock but was a FN action. In looking it over it turned out to be a FN barreled action with the 24" barrel numbered to the action. In loading for it I was plesantly supprized. Any load of IMR 4350 with any bullet from 115-160 grain shot into an inch or less. I am hunting with a 139 grain Hornady Interlock and a near maximum load of 4350. I shot a buck and a doe with it and of course it worked to perfection. The gun is perfectly happy with 160 grain Speer mag tips or even 160 grain Norma bullets, with steel jackets. The varmint bullets shot just as well. I have a couple of guns that will shoot this well or better with a load they like but have never worked with a gun that is this consistent. I am going to have it restocked and am thinking of using Talley mounts and rings. Do any of you have any experience with the FN Mausers or has anyone ever shot a gun that was this easy to work with?
