Savage Edge 223 ammo
« on: December 03, 2010, 06:06:23 AM »
I was hoping to get some input on the best ammo to use for this gun.  I am looking for something that is relatively cheap and accurate.  I plan on shooting a lot.

Thanks

I hate to say it but  cheap and accurate do not normally go hand in hand, You have to have one or the other. The cheap stuff is normally mil surplus and is steal case and the may cause other issues like the case getting stuck in the chamber that stuff is made for full and simi automatic rifles and a bolt action may cycle to slow and the lacker can get hard in the chamber and sort of glue the case in the chamber

Buy several different types in small batches that is in your price range.  Shoot it all and buy more of whatever shoots best.  Larry

Both of my .223's love the Fiocchi V-Max ammo. They have both 40 and 50 grain loads available, often for under ten a box at Cabelas.
