Kurt...your post puzzles me. It tracks with what has been posted here previously, but seems strange to me. the hisories I have read suggest that the model 12, with the pork chop barrel shroud and external barrel nut, then recessed barrel nut, preceded the model 15; but your info says the model 15 came first.

I saw in a collector's book the other day a listing that said the model 12 was produced only in 1970 and 1971--a discrepancy for sure. I'm thinking we still don't have fully accurate and reliable info on Dan Wesson production.

Some were sold as High Standards. Never saw one to know how they were marked.

Serial Number info from Dan Wesson Arms- Mo

I have kludged together what I think to be descriptive of the older .357 models based on the Blue Book of Gun Values, the writeup on old build revolvers on the new wesson web site, a Palmer catalog and examination of my collection.

I'm not sure, hoever, when or if the model 15 became model 15-2. I did not include the .38 special models 8 and 9. Any coomments, additions or corrections welcome
