Thanks guys, kinda of what I thought but you don't know if you don't ask. Going back and reviewing the history of the rifle since I bought it. I think I caused the dark bore. Its a swedish mauser in 6.5 that I sporterized (no regret) and I had found this article on building a charged wire to remove copper buildup in the bore. I did my research but not as good as I thought. I used a solution with ammonia in it along with a wire hooked up to batteries. Read story after story about how great this was. Followed all the instructions including neutralizing the solution when you finished. It was about a year later that I noticed the bore was dark and I could not get a clean patch out of it. Patch always had a dark gray/green color to it. May work on it again this weekend using Rusty Duck to clean and scrub. As far as accuracy...it shoots like the typical swed.....very good.
