It was not long ago that my grandson Jack got me back too my roots and .22's---well it was/is his fault even though all he can do at this point in his life is drool.
I digress---One of my first finds, after buying the Browning take-down was a Marlin mdl 60--it had a god awful, beat-up stock.
I did the takedown, stripping/sanding, etc---and the results was a god awful piece of wood--even when refinished.
I bought a $45 synthetic pistol grip stock from Midway and it is a good-un.
BUTTTT---I was left with this god awful furinture of a stock. I am hard headed and I figgered I could not ruin what was ruins already.
Someone here wanted it---maybe---and he may still get it--as is--I have not decided.
Anywho--I bought me some Krylon primer and HIGH GLOSS APPLE RED Krylon. Took the stock down again--sandied and filled it and PAINTED IT.
I really do like the looks---you may vomit.
I will get some pics up today.
Blessings
