Next barrel

Looking for my next ProHunter barrel, and thought I would ask for suggestion.  I already have a 22-250 rifle barrel.  Looking at the pistols now.  I would like something with the ability to drop a deer easily but don't want much recoil.  How are the 270's?  Any suggestions?

In a pistol barrel 15" or so inches I would go with the 260 Remington. With 120 gr Nosler ballistic tips you don't get a lot of recoil and it will hammer deer way out there. .

I prefer to stay with pistol rounds.

45LC You can go from mild to wild with factory loads.

In a factory chambered barrel the 7-08 Remington would be my first choice for deer.

Why?  How's the kick gonna be?  The deer where I'm at are relatively small so I don't need a sledge hammer type round.  Just accurate with a good punch.  Many people here hunt deer with 22-250 and 243.  How much is lost due to the shorter barrel?  Thanks for the input.

     .243 vs 7-08.....same case capacity for both...100gr bullet out of the 243...120 out of the 7-08....difference in kick....you won't know the difference.  Now put a 70gr in the 243 and a 160gr in the 7-08...yeah, it'll kick a little more.

The difference in velocity between a 15 inch and a 24 inch barrel is about 300 fps. Recoils souldn't be a problem .

Does anyone have any actual/or estimated numbers for recoil...how many foot pounds for 7mm-08 vs. 270 vs. 243 from a 15" barrell?

Nonereally in past 10 years.  I have a 22mag and shot a 45lc recently.  Other than that none.
