I just ordered a new Browning Medallion A-Bolt II in 280 Remington with a 26" barrel from a gunshop online. I own 7 other Browning firearms, I have sold a few others as well, and shopped for them for more than 30 years and I have never seen a standard factory 26 inch barrel on a non-magnum loading Browning A-Bolt II. Does anyone know if this is a one year thing, a special dealer run, or maybe a few just went out that way?

Cant say much about the barrel length, but you will love the 280. With those extra inches of barrel it should be nipping close on the heels of a 7 mag.

I've got the medallion in 280,I had some 120nosler bt so that is what I loaded them with,I took a between the shoulder blades shot at a buck that came out of a drive,he stopped for a second and put his head down,he was head on to me at about 200yds I made a perfect hit. The problem is that the gun is so pretty that I have'nt taken it out in over 15yrs because I worry about scratching it, I know people are going to say thats what guns are for but I have a few hunter models I use instead mainly the 284win sometimes the 270. I've always been a favorite for the 270 but the 280 is also a very good cartridge.
