No no!  I really got a problem!   

I just gotta stay out a them Handi classifieds... 

That 30-30 barrel sitting there without a frame of it's own just kept knawing at me!  Even though it fit my 45 colt frame just fine...

Now, somehow, I don't really know how, I will soon possess both a 500 S&W and a .223 Handi!     How did this happen!     I don't need either of those 2 calibers!  Heck!  I don't even really want either of them!     And I still don't have a receiver for the 30-30 barrel...    I'm right where I was last week except now I own 2 more Handies!  Well, I'm not right where I was.     My pension check is gone.  I won't even be able to buy beer for the rest of the month!  But I got 2 more Handies...    in calibers I don't want!     And I still need a receiver... 

And furniture!  The 223 doesn't have any wood!     I'll have to get in touch with Gun Stocks!     I've been wanting to get some of their wood anyway... I can restock one of my other Handi's and use the wood on the .223...    But but wait!  If I make the 223 my coyote gun I'll want somethiong a little more "target rifle" like on that!  And the 500!     I'll really need to restock that ifn I shoot full house loads in it... I learned a lot with the 45-120!  But then I'll have an extra stock for the 30-30!     Wait!  I don't have a receiver for the 30-30...

No doubt about it a real effort needs to be made to save your pension check.  You need to set down away from the computer Handi classifieds.   

The remedy is a full pumpkin pie in the morning for breakfast and a second pumpkin pie for dinner.  You will find yourself too busy to buy another Handi or parts.  If you have the urge to buy between breakfast and dinner try another pumpkin pie, and as a treat you can cover it with whippy cream.

Richard I agree you are a sick puppy.  That photo makes you look like Willie Nelson, and we all know he is a sick puppy.  I'm having a mean streak, I shaved off my beard.  I won't be myself for a few weeks, so I too am a sick puppy.

Now for your addiction:  Take those Handis and go hunting.  Hunt morning, noon, and night.  After holding one in your hand for weeks on end, and beating them up climbing into and out of stands.  Slipping and falling in rocks, and gravely hillsides will skin both you and them.  All this abuse to them and you will help you get over having to have new ones.  You will realize you can make do with the old tried and true, beat up old ones.

Shu:  Don't point out the Handi is naked, Richard might decide to join it.  And trust me none of us want to see that.  Be careful Richard.

I just emailed Gunstocks.  Now I'm trying to decide what wood Ima gonna put on which rifle...    They all beginnin to look alike!     Just the other day I stood there stareing into my safe at my 45-120's barrel trying to figure out how it got so short all ova sudden... kinda like my ... uh, me!  (I used ta be 6 ft tall)  Figured it musta shrunk as it got older... the barrel that is...   Took about 10 minutes before I realized I was looking at my 38-55!

Wish I could afford a beer...    or 12...    I really would rather pee away my paycheck... 

I figure I'll put the wood I got on the 45-120 on the 500 and the wood on the 500 on the 223, temporarily.  Then I'll get some nice wood in a classic style from GunStocks for the 45-120.  Walnut or laminate should be a little heavier... 

Kathie's gonna kill me if she ever finds out...  I just lectured her on saving money so I could retire sometime before I die... 

I still haven't decided what I'm gonna do with the 25-06 and 280.     Just something to make each one different.  Kinda like when I was a young buck and tried to have girlfriends with different hair color... all at the same time... and called them all darlin' so I didn't slip up on the whole name thing...

Maybe I ought to take up with young wimmins again...    I'd rather hold them then wood and steel...

I knew not to look at this thread but I looked anyway.  Now my 45-120 with a plain jane set of Cinnamon Lams if pouting in the corner of the gun safe. That big walnut forestock on stuffit's BC looks way nice!  Richard please buy that set from GSI quickly so I have some CHRISTmas money left for my kid.

Atlaw, you are not sick. You are smarter than you think and doing what I have been contemplating for a long time. Ok, here is my way of thinking. We all know the dollar is going to take a bad turn soon. China and  Russia are making their own currency so they don't need the dollar, and now it takes 90 green backs to buy a barrel of raw crude oil right. It makes a lot of sense to buy what you love if it can hold it's value. Buying guns is a natural reaction as a hedge against inflation much like buying gold. Some also buy hunting land but for small investing increments guns are a good deal yet but most likely will go up in price soon. It was good you spent your beer money on guns too so don't feel bad. Ya can just mosey on by a friends house and show him your new guns. If he's happy for you the next question is " hey ya wanna beer!?  Don't forget to laugh and say "a few would be better!!," and there ya go.

IF you have enough time to properly sight in a Handi then you are waiting way too long to make your next purchase!  Also, if by chance you do actually get a Handi zeroed, you are required to remove the scope or stock set immediately and put in on a different Handi so that you can start the process over.  My local candy shop has a sign that says "Buy a Gun a Month, It's the Law!".   I do my best to comply.

Some problems solved:

Take the barrel off the 500, put it in a box.  Take the lams off the 120, put them in a box.  Put the 30-30 barrel on the 500 receiver.  Order the GSI stocks for the 120.

Ship the boxes to me.
