Just finished reading Not a Good Day to Die. Starts out with a lot of background and about 2/3 the way through it you will not be able to put it down. The author was an Army Ranger and this is his story of a battle on a 10,000 ft mountain top in Afganistan. Lot's of things go wrong, but our troops are incredible, loyal, and fierce.
I highly recommend this to all.
