He's baaaack !
« on: December 11, 2010, 12:53:18 AM »
Just when we all expected old Slick to be hitting the rocking chair...heeees  baaaack... ;) :D

Brings to mind when I was a foreman in construction trades, the company hired a young fellow as a crew leader, against my advice. Now, I had no dislike for the young fellow but I did know that he did not yet have enough knowlege or experience for the job.
He started on a new worksite on Monday..on Wednesday morning I was summoned to go straighten things out. He had totally bungled things, setting the project back, making the customer angry and p---ing off the local zoning people.
When I arrived at the worksite, he was in a dither, so instead of sticking around and gaining some knowlege/experience...he says "it's yours now" and walks off...
    I couldn't help but laugh when I saw this in the news... ;) :D ;D ;D

Problem is "he" doesn't realize it (narccisist?) and we apparently can't fire him.

IG, the job you referanced, was that in Seattle in the late 70's?  LOL!

While I don't like him, he was better than Carter.  I do respect him for one thing.  Reagonnomics had kicked in and the economy was going good.  Slick Willie had enough smarts to sit back keep out of it and take the credit for the soaring economy.  Which he got from most of the people who did not understand economics.

His problem with Monica was he went after a young one that did not have the intelligence to keep her mouth shut.  Other presidents had done the same thing, and the White House staff kept it quite or covered it up.  Monica went out side the White House and blabbed.  Even after it came out most of the women of this nation saw nothing wrong with it, and actually cheered him on.  I was working in DC at the time, and heard a lot from the women working in my building.  They may have hated his politics but they love his virality.  They said "So he lied about it, what do you expect".  And they would growl or make cat sounds as they walked away.

I do think he was far better than what we are now stuck with.
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I wonder if those ladies would feel the same way if it were their boyfriends or hubbies outsourcing those same services?

Happening ALL over is no exageration either. It is almost a daily occurance in "the trades". Too many bosses between inception and finished product, don't know their nuts from their rivets. Saw older guys since retired brought back to my former work place. News stories as well of that happening even at Boeing.God help us if we ever get into another conflict as immense as WWII.  (Didn't mean to hijack the thread)
