H&R O/U 12 ga M1212WF
« on: December 11, 2010, 04:53:54 AM »
In keeping with my H&R collecting mania - I recently managed to acquire an H&R Model 1212 O/U 12 ga - 3" chambers w/30" barrels (Water Fowl model) made by Lanber of Spain in the late 1970's.  Mine is dated 1976.  It's fixed choke at Full and Modified.  It has nice wood and a modestly "engraved" receiver.  I haven't shot it as yet and I don't yet have pics.  I'm intending to give it a try at trap, when my leg is a bit more steady.  Anyone have any experience shooting one of these?  Any problems?  Thanks!

Does it resemble the one in this ad from around 1977?

It's the one on the right, with the rubber bumper (LOL) - It had a bit of surface rust that was not noticeable until I rubbed off the oil soaking in for the past couple of days.  Next step is to lightly Flitz the metal.  Liquid Gold brightened up the wood.  A couple more surface preservation days and it'll be ready for a portrait or two.
(Knight - just hold on for a couple more days - need some decent sunlight here also.)

Thanks Old Fart and Tommie.  I'm planning on giving it a wring out on the Trap field sometime in the near future.  I'll post on how it does (I do?)
