Evanix Rainstorm
« on: December 11, 2010, 05:05:28 AM »
Santa came early this year.
He brought me a new Evanix Rainstorm.
This thing is sweet.
It comes in under 7 pounds. About 40 inches long and powerful.
I can adjust the fpe from the high thirties to about fifty-fifty two fpe with a simple adjustment.
It is also shrouded for quietness.
Also adjustable trigger and adjustable butt pad.

Any one here have one?.

I know a dedicated hunter in Hawaii that has one and it's one of his favorite airguns, if not his very favorite airgun.  He has several, too.  He hunts and kills all sorts of stuff (impressive stuff) with it all the time.  When I buy a .22, the RainStorm is going to be the one.  Maybe he'll pop-in here for a visit.

Let me know if you ever want it tuned to perform even better!  I know a great tuner for the RainStorm.

I`m familiar with Nomadic Pirate and his famous pig hunts.
So far, I think I will be pleased with the Rainstorm as is. I wanted a carbine with "power", and that is what I got. I already have low and medium powered air rifles.
Everything about the gun is smooth.
I purchased this gun for everything from squirrel to fox size game and i`m confident it has the power to get the job done.
At present, i`m willing to trade shot count for power. I seldom ever need more than 20-25 shots in the field/woods.
Waiting on pellets and decent weather so I can fine tune.

Be aware, that pellets clipping the shroud is a common problem with factory RainStorms.  Nomadic Pirate knows the fix for that.

He says he cannot miss with that rifle.

That was early production models.
Late production, no problems.
Besides, it is an easy fix if someone got one that was clipping.
I have shot a lot of pellets through mine and no clipping.
I`m waiting on a particular pellet from supplier to try.
Everything seems to be on back order these days.
