Old Remington Factory Ammo or Handloads

I picked up a box of 350 rem mag stuff at a gun show today. In it there are several boxes of factory ammo. Some of it is newer yellow and green box stuff, while there are several boxes of the old green and white boxes. There is one box of the old stuff that has the brass colored primers, and there are several other boxes of the old stuff that has silver primers. Was there a time when Remington used silver primers instead of the brass colored ones used today? Is there a way to tell if these are reloads? Thanks for any help.

No they don't have UMC on them.  Just Remington High speed.  They also have Dupont on them.

Good for you on the observation and paying attention to detail.
I have never seen silver primers used by Remington. All I have encountered were the brass primers.
 But who knows how old they are, Look very close at the cases--every aspect of them.
If they are reloads you should be able to pick up little tell tale indications.
 Die marks, scratches on the cases and so on.  I wont shoot unknown reloads
I would call Remington, one miss hap can ruin a good day.

If they have Dupont on the box they are very old..late 60's early 70's.  Probably came for the time frame that the .350 Rem Mag was introduced. I have never noticed silver colored primers in Rem ammo..but that doesn't mean they have NEVER used them.  I think a magnifying glass might give you some clues are to whether they are reloads or not.  A call to Remington customer service might be in order...or a cartridge collector might be able to help you.

Thanks for the tips guys.  I think I will look at them a little closer and maybe contact Remington.  If all else I have some 200 gr bullets and cases with some neat looking old boxes.

Yes the bullets have a crimp on them and no they have not been resized.  There is not a ring above the belt and there are not any kind of scratches from dies.  Besides a little bit of tarnishing on  a few of the cases they look like virgin brass.
