At the time Charlie she prolly was thinking that. The photo was before she had tried getting in. She says getting out is the hardest part.

Nice truck Bill. At least you should be able to see above most traffic. Enjoy! I don't think I could buy a new truck because I would be scared to use it as a truck and get those first scratches or dents.

Just personally, I'd rather have a truck made in America where the profits go to Japan than a truck made in Japan where the profits come back to the US. The system is imbalanced either way, but money that goes to the rich often is essentially being taken out of the economy ANYWAYS. Those types of people tend to amass more wealth than they're ever going to spend. Money that goes to the type of people working on an assembly line is almost certainly going to be reinvested back into the system rather soon. Trust me, our upper-class overlords have PLENTY enough money coming in via outsourced labor that I don't think they'll be hurting much. At least with this setup the common man who actually needs the money gets a job.

I agree with you!!!! Like I said I wasn't trying to be negative! I've worked at TMMWV for almost 12 years. I am thankful to have a good paying job with good benefits in a state where good jobs are hard to come by. We at Toyota do produce a high quality product. Yes there was a period of recalls that at first Toyota did not approach in a timely manner, but on the other hand the media over play it ignoring recalls from the other top auto manufacturers. But any way you look at it Toyota is a Japanese based company. I do own Toyota vehicles and will have more (after all I do get a discount). The last Silverado I owned I'm pretty sure came out of Mexico! I really would like to know if there is a vehicle that is actually American made.

Good looking ride GB. Faye deserves it--she won't have any problems getting in it so-as you can drive her anywhere she wants to go.
Ride is goona be good also---suspenions these days are light years ahead of just 10 years ago.

Great truck GB and congratulations. I had a Chevy, than a Dodge I bought from my father in law for $1.00 to be legal. that Dodge was a Monster, it was a 1 ton 2WD with an extended cab and an 8 foot bed, it wass LOOONG. It got 9 miles to the gallon no matter if it was loaded heavy or unloaded, uphill, downhill, hot or cold, with the wind or into the wind, loaded with the 13' truck camper or not. The only good thing about that is gas was about a buck a galloin then.
I then got a Toyota "SR5" 4 WD and now have a Dodge Ram. My son had the Ram to use for the last year but just bought a Toyote Tacoma. He (and I) always liked the Toyota I had when he was a youngster. He started driving it at 14 on the woods roads in Maine when he started to go to deer camp with us. My Dodge is a strong reliable truck but the 11.5 to 12 mpg in town and the whopping 15 mpg on the highway if the wind is with you is a killer. Some day if the economy ever settles down and I can afford another truck it will be another Toyota.
Someday I would like to have a Tacoma 4 door 4WD automatic with a 6' bed. I'd like to think of Santa leaving one under the tree for me, but sadly no chance of that. All in all I'm very happy to have the Dodge Ram back to use. I'm happy for you and Faye, and enjoy the new truck in good health....<><....

Nope Toyota doesn't make a 3/4 ton only 1/2 ton trucks. If you get 4x2 in place of 4x4 like mine the GVWR goes up about a hundred pounds and the tow rating is 10,200. That's the highest numbers Toyota makes.

I got the step bars added this morning. Here is my pitiful attempt to show them. I think what it mostly proves is that these days with auto focus cameras I'm a poor excuse for a photographer.

I called today and Line-X can't get to me until next Tuesday morning to spray the liner in.

Makes the getting in and out easier----and really no trouble for anyone who can climb a step.
Had them on All the PU's and the Expeditions---now the Pony car is easy---just fall in.

That's actually a good deal. If I'm not mistaken, several of the factory warranties are only valid if you have your regular maintenance done at the dealership (which costs a lot more than getting an oil change down at the local tire and lube). My car is a Hyundai (that's right, don't laugh

) which has a 10yr/100,000 mile warranty, but I'm pretty sure with that dealership service clause (which I ignored

). It's up to 75,000 miles now though with no major issues so I'm confident I'll hit the 100k mark without having to work about the warranty.

Hyundai is actually pretty similar in regards to manufacture. It's technically a Korean company, but they have an assembly plant in Georgia that puts together some of the cars they sell here.

Do I want him driving it? No not really but still he has a habit of finding a reason to do so from time to time. Some times just to drive me to the doctor or hospital. He's not driven it yet tho. I'm betting the 90 day XM trial is over before he does.

Bill you know im a chev man to the bone. I wont get into the usa vs jap arguement as like me most people have there opinion and you arent going to change it. Its a great looking truck though. Ive allways liked white trucks. Never owned one but think there classy looking. Ive got it stuck in my craw that they tend to rust faster. Up here where the salt is thick on the roads and gets into ever crack and crevous it always seemed that white vehicles rusted faster. I dont know if its just that it shows more or that because white reflects the sun the moisture trapped doesnt evaportate as quickly on a white vehicle. But i will say that a white truck fixed up with a little chrome and nice wheels is about as pretty as it gets.
