I got my first deer with my Contender 7-30 Waters today. I shot him about 20 yards away through the spine and he hit the dirt. He would have been a 6 pt. but half of his rack was missing. :x I posted a picture on the Thompson Handgun forum.

must have stunk that he only had half a rack :? . I was suprised when you said that you shot him in the spine, I thought that you were suposed to hit them in the lungs.

The bullet hit him there too. When it hit his spine it mushroomed out and went all the way through to behind his lr leg. It was right under the skin.
