If it's a 45 you really want, I'd sell the 38 super and buy the 45. Kimber has a pretty healthy wait time for the Pro Carry in 38 super. My BIL ordered one and it it took 8-9 months if I remember correctly. I would think someone would snatch it up on one of the auction sites because of that. I can find a Pro Carry in 45 in any shop that sells Kimber and if they don't have it in stock, they can get the 45 without the wait. As for the 38 special, your limited to wadcutters. The 38 super is a great round, easy to reload, powerful and accurate in the Kimber. What's no to like?
