Model 7 KS 18" barrel or FS?
« on: December 18, 2010, 10:04:01 AM »
A friend and I are having a debate. He claims to own 2 Model 7 Kevlar stocked 18" barrel rifles that were production rifles offered 1987-89. I thought that the Kevlar models were all 20" barrels and were Custom Shop only and the 18" Production rifles were fiberglass with kevlar and graphite reinforced.
Did Remington catalog a Kevlar stocked Model 7 with a 18" barrel?

My 1987 catalog shows them in .243, 7mm-08, and .308.  The stocks are green in color.

I think that we have resolved this. He concedede that His Model 7's were FS with kevlar & graghite reinforecemnet. Not the kevlar stock, which was offered only through the Custom Shop in35 Rem & 350 Rem. Mag. with a 20" barrel and a difrferant design.

I believe you could get the KS ones through the custom shop in many different calibers.  Those years are the FS models, which I had in 7mm-08.  Wish I never had to sell that one.  It was a heck of a whitetail rifle.
