While the panty wetting hate America crowd will bemoan this decision, I'm proud to see that our armed forces with their long and rich history of being at the forefront of social change will once again set the standard for the American ideal of equality.
Crusty;
You seem to be speaking authoritatively..please tell us of your military experience so we can better understand your basis. Before you start ridiculing military who don't like the new measure..test the idea. Go to some gay bar and bring home one of them and share your meals and bathroom... then take showers together with them for some time, before you do complain about soldiers who may not like the idea of having to do the same thing.
I assume you do not already do this...
Squirreluck;
You have it right! This won't end well....
Now, instead of preparing for combat, much time and effort will be spent courts-martialing troops who let the word "gay" or "fag" slip out in daily conversation, thereby "offending" some swish ? There will also be cases where especially worked up gays will try to come onto another trooper too strongly and will get punched out for it.
...Just guess who gets raked over the coals because of the incident !! We already know, don't we !
As the rule presently stands, it would be a cut and dried case.."don't ask don't tell"... no excuse for such aggressive moves in the first place.
How many decent troops will get courts-martialed because they don't want to share a lonely guard outpost with one of them ? ...And how many outposts will be improperly manned and fail to protect the main force because a couple of them were in the guard dugout..."doing who knows what".
As you said..."this won't end well".
Below, see new battle rifle which will be put on order..it will be equipped with a pastel blue, rubber bayonet...
