Browning pump 22

Found one on the used rack, bluing ok and a few marks on the wood.  Action feels nice and tight, no dings around the muzzle.  I can get it for $300, is that a good price?  I know they haven't been made for quite a while, any problems with them and are they good shooters?  DP

I was able to use one as a kid (uncles) was a nice ride, as one would expect of a Browning firearm, To get a decent Browning Pump for $300 is a good buy, thers allot of good pumps out there Browning made a good one of them.

IMHO, $300 is a fair price for a BPR-22 in LR - neither too much, nor low.

If it's a BPR-22 Mag, however, they generally trade for 2x the value of a LR in like condition.

I went back and picked it up today.   I kept thinking about it and it is Christmas , so when my 5 year old son turns 18 maybe I'll be done playing with it.  Well, that's my story anyway.   Very solid gun, can't wait to take it out and run it thru the paces.  Always had a soft spot for Brownings , this is number 4 for the brand now.  Don't know how much longer my wife will believe me when I tell her "it's for one of the kids".   She's starting to keep track, I'm in BIG trouble.   DP

Not sure why Montana is doing this, but have to be 12 to take Hunters Ed here.  Most people have been shooting many years before that happens.  He has been shooting with his own rifle and 22 "shotgun" made by a member of this GBO family.  All 7 of our kids love to shoot, makes it hard on the ol checkbook keeping supplies in the reloading room .  Merry Christmas to all on GBO!!!  DP

My state has a minimum age requirement of 11y.o. to take my state's Hunter Ed qualification course & get a Jr. hunting license (Jr's can/have to hunt only with a licensed adult) - Soooo, I started taking my son hunting squills with me after he spent about a year at my gun range, shooting/etc - shooting @ 7y.o, then accompanying me hunting @ 8y.o.

We only took one rifle, and I'd sit him either next to me (on ground) or between my knees, and let him pop a squirrel every now/then.

Now, 36 years later @ 44y.o. - he's regularly off to the Great White North, popping Caribou, Moose and such................

I love it, when a plan comes together.

Finally got it out to shoot, only 3 fired out of a full mag.   On the bolt, the side opposite the ejection port, is what looks like the fireing pin and a piece that helps it out the port.  It's very loose, not tight against the bolt, and looks like the firing pin is just barely touching the side of the rim and sliding by.  Ejection is almost nil, barely comes out, sometimes not at all.  Do I have a broken spring?  Any ideas would be appreciated, and who to talk to about this.  Going to post on Rimfire Central as well.  Thanks, still love the firearm.  DP
