ax men

anyone watch this series? My question is about the Louisiana logger. What kind of black powder revolver is this guy packing? One particular long barrell. He seems to be a good shot. Saw the episode where he shot a squirrel from a moving fork truck. Quite a character.

Not a BP gun it's a Ruger stainless Super Blackhawk .44 magnum. I've yet to see him hit anything with it. He just shoots it like it was loaded with blanks. He'll be running along the water at full speed shooting at the bank just to be making noise.

I've pretty much come to the conclusion that all of them are just reading their lines from a script and that there is little to no reality in it. One thing that really convinces me is all the times those accidents happen and the tree just happens to fall right on a camera which of course is always protected so it keeps on filming.

It was a pretty good show the first year and not bad the second but it's become just folks reading their lines from a script and pretending it's reality.

I still like the show for what it stands for but like GB, I believe a lot of it is staged.
Worst is the language.
I can't stand to watch something that has to have almost every other word blanked.
I know they are rough, tough guys but this is suppose to be somewhat of a family show.

Yeah, talk about staged, how about the boat trailer "accident" on the last episode!  ::)

"reality shows " aren't. Yep, loggers work hard, especially the choker setters. They get to work at times and see that some moron vandalized their equipment, tens of thousands of dollars worth. In retaliation for that, in cases, they gate off state property that doesn't belong to them, they also leave leaking buckets of grease and oil, old hydraulic lines and stuff lying all over the woods, their landings, decks, and clear cuts. Maybe thats why their stuff gets vandalized huh?  :o  I did watch The Deadliest Catch for awhile, my eldest son in law knew one of the deck hands, and I used to work where some of the cranes they used were built. Built "crab cranes" and the component pieces for about four and a half years.

Yeah that was so obviously staged it was so clear how phony it was. The camera man showed us it wasn't locked down rather clearly so we'd know what to expect than it started jerking and jumping and he had no clue until it came off. No chains to secure it against that possiblity either.

I used to enjoy it in the early days but these days it is so obviously fake there is really little to watch that actually shows what logging is about.

If they are as stuped as they are portrayed some of them will get killed in that business. It appears that has almost happened a few times already. ear
