scope ring height

I posted this in the encore and contender board, but thought I would try here also.  I got a new encore 209x50 and I'm putting a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x40 on it.  Are the Warne Maxima rings a good choice?  What height do I need to clear the hammer and rear sight?

bukfevr,

I wish you luck with your choice of weapon.  What ever height that you come up with, you should still get a (hammer attachment) thingy that sticks out to the right (or left) of your hammer and aids in cocking your hammer.  It must be aluminum or you stand a chance of breaking your hammer.

I'm sure someone will come along behind me and have the correct terms, Good Luck

hammer extension.  Check on Mike Bellm's website for a good 'un.  You will probably need the high rings to clear the rear sight, and may find the scope's ocular end leaves enough gap such that an extension will not be required - maybe.
WHUT?
