I just bought a cut to fit TC rugged rod and a "tee handle".  Dual purpose as a cleaning rod and a range rod.

Yes adaptors are out there that make it possible to use BP cleaning attachments with standard/modern style rods. I have one that came in a cleaning kit I received as a present. Sorry I don't know where the kit was purchased. I also have another one that I made back when I had access to a good shop. It's not hard to make one really.

Just do a "8/32 to 10/32 adapter" search on the internet - you will come up with several options - here is one..
