Just got an email from Lance! Good to hear from him ...

The not-so-good news is that he is going through chemo....

Hope to see him over break. Headed for Atlanta in the AM.

I was thinking of him this past week wondering how he was doing, let him know that he has people praying for him

I wonder what OUR average age is? My average age is 63 (for about another 6 months).

Tim, Please pass along our very best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery to Lance. Both Mike and I have fond memories of meeting him and all of you outstanding artillerists at the First Annual (Almost) New River Valley Cannon Shoot near Floyd, Virginia in 2007.

I guess I'm the baby of the group at 43. If I remember correctly (from an old posting) Lance is about the same age. Anyway, we wish Lance the best. Stay strong and our prayers are with you.

I didn't know you folks were so old! Anyway i'm 46.
It's been a while since i've dropped in............Let's see, where to start?
Back this past summer my health got worse and worse,and i ended up in the hospital, and they said i had cancer.
Chemo is no fun, but, i'd be dead by now without the chemo.
I would much rather write about cannons and mortars, but to be honest, i haven't done much for the past several months.
The last cannon thing i did, was back in July 17th, 2010............I did set my 1870 Ballonawehrkanone up on the field, and several of us took turns shooting balloons. The very first shot, i hit the target, and purdy much every shot after that historic first shot. We used my special golfball and wood sabot loads, the golfball flies very straight and super fast, goes through the balloon, and takes down any tree branches that get in the way.
It's all on DVD, and i guess if any of you wanted to see a clip or two, well, send me your e-mail address.

Sometimes i don't feel like i'm doing fine, still have more chemo to go through.
I would like to thank everyone that posted on this topic. I mainly sit around all day, haven't worked in months.
One thing i do is to check my e-mail every day, and hardly hear from anyone, so if y'all get bored, send me a "secret message" sometime.
