My .375 H&H Remington 700 BDL
« on: December 24, 2010, 08:55:56 AM »
I haven't mounted the scope yet, but here's where I'm at now.  Stock is from a 2003 Shot Show Special Edition.  The 3-9X40 Leupold VX-II will be installed soon.

I'd like to try QD rings so I can use both.

I took it apart and bedded the recoil lug tonight.  I'll shoot it when I return from Kentucky.

Swampman your pics are good enough for a gun magazine...if you lived nearby I would pay to have you take pics of any gun I would be selling because I could probably get a hundred dollars more out of it
Though taken from established manufacturers' sources and presumed to be safe please do not use any load that I have posted. Please reference Hogdon, Lyman, Speer and others as a source of data for your own use.

If you have a 7mm or 300 mag, the 375 is the most logical next step up. Take the larger leap.

that's anice looking rifle. i think your scope choice is good but i think those rifles look and carry better with a scope like leupold's 1-4x20mm
every day is a gift. use it well

I'm just trying to learn more about the heavy hitters.  I'd like to have a .458 too.  The .375 H&H has been on my must have list since the eight grade.

:D  Enjoy...I have had a 375 for about 15 years or so..Don't shoot it a whole lot, but it is a neat caliber..sometime I plan on trying it on elk..but the chance depends on the country I will hunt...I have shot antelope with mine and it does a fine job..not as destructive as one would think..I have thought of the .458, have shot several, I think right now if I were going for something bigger than a .375 I would look seriously at the Rem. 416...May rebarrel a 700 for one some time in the future...but for now the  375 is fine..found a bunch of 300 grain Silvertips..and have used those..they are pretty soft for such a big gun..anyway..have fun..it is one sharp rifle..
