Synthetic Stock for a Model 7 CDL 350 Mag.

Looking to maybe lighten up My CDL. Remington & others offer a black synthetic for about $100. A Remington Rep. told me that the stock weighs in @ about 2lbs.. This does not seem to get Me much lighter than the original wood.  The question is this - are these stocks made of fiberglass or injection molded with some fiberglass in it? Are these stocks worth it, or should I look toward a higher quality stock. I have also been looking @ the High Tech stocks from Basner. The High Tech should get Me the weight reduction that I'm looking for.

$100 equals craptastic injection molded plastic.

Even the cheaper B&C aftermarket stocks with some fiberglass and aluminum bedding blocks come in at over twice that price.  You can get some pillar bedded stocks (Hogue comes to mind) for around the $100 mark, but beware that the barrel channel can contact the barrel changing your harmonics.

I've owned stocks from B&C, H-S Precision, Manners and McMillan.  I'll not own a B&C again, but can vouch for the other three, especially the Manners and McMillan.  Price though is considerably more.
