Hog doggin' in the Texas Hill Country
« on: December 27, 2010, 09:51:51 AM »
My son and I went hunting last night with a friend North of Utopia, TX.

I took my 3 BMCs one of which just turned 10 months old and was on her first hunt and Jesse had 4 of his excellent cur-hound cross dogs. ( He is a professional hog remover. What a gig! )

We bayed a smallish boar of maybe 125 lbs against a rock wall in a dry creek.

My flash didnt go off and this is the result. My son Zach is with the dogs legging the hog and the light is from Jesse Paul's light in front of me

Zach with a leg

That is my 10 month old Petra on top, my Blade dog on the left ear and my Girl dog is on Zach's right.

It was a little on the cool side ( 24 ) but it was a long but enjoyable night. ( we got home at 3 AM )

What a blast. Those cool temps make that type of hunting more enjoyable than in the summer.

What brand light was Jesse Paul using?  That hog hunting with dogs must be a rush!

Good luck and thanks,

I am a cable tv guy and went on a wind damage call yesterday. The owner of the house was a hog dogger,we got along great. He asked me several times to go out with them hunting. What I liked the most about the whole deal was the over friendly pit bull in his living room. Sounds like fun, will plan on it.Chuck
