Theres a case here in KY in which an American soldier came home for Christmas and found that his ILLEGAL father was in jail facing deportation, he's been here ILLEGALLY for over 25 years and fathered 5 American born kids. In that time he made no attempt to become a citizen. Now the pantywetters are going nuts. POWDERMAN.

Which Latino's are offended ? In the 70's I was in Dallas and the Latino's who were born here or legal called the illegals wetbacks ( a term new to me then). As several said the illegals were going to mess things up for them .
That said if it is still the same today then the Latino's who are offended are the illegal ones ? should we care ?

We all use terms that is locally used and acceptiable amoungst the people you work and deal with every day. When I was small and we went to Arizonia to visit relatives, they had a term they used for Mexicans that crossed the border illigially, Wetbacks. Then I left home and I moved to Texas, there they were called Wetbacks as well, Then when I lived in New Mexico, again they were called Wetbacks. When I rounded up a bunch out on the White Sands range, or seen a bunch hiding and running through the dessert I reported to Base Ops that I had seen a bunch of Wetbacks. That was the common term used for them at the time. Then in the 90s we were told not to use that term anymore it was too deragatory. Don't care what anyone says, if they came here illigally they are Wet Backs to me.

And then these people are not getting called EXACTLY what they are and they are getting mad about it? Some of you beat me to it. We used to call (and still do) anyone who swam the Rio Grande a wetback.

I wish we could go back to having farm laborers come and go legally, instead of having to sneak in, and then trying to move into other jobs.

They also send a lot of goods and money back home.

I really got into it Wednesday. I was in the wife's office, she works in the Legal Office on Ft Wainwright. Some people that work there are actually grown up Anchor Babies. Many have parents that still do not have green cards. When I went in one of the more outspoken persons informed me we are not supposed to use the term Illigal Alien any more. I turned and said, "I never use that term anyway". My wife covered her face and headed for her office, she knew what was coming. I replied "They are all a bunch of Wet Backs as far as I am concerned". The woman that started it laughed, others just stood there with their mouths open, the Anchor Babies just glarred at me. They and I have been down that road before. One woman brought her Illigal family members to Alaska to live. I reported them, in the Spring, after they had spent the winter here. They got a visit from INS. The family members disappeared, I heard they went back to Southern California. Got a feeling she won't be staying much longer. She is a single parent, and her oldest is in the Army stationed in Kansas. The youngest Graduates High School this spring and is planning on joining the Navy. Without her boys she has no one else up here, and I think she will leave.
