Today I got a burden,
And I felt that I should pray
For God's spirit seemed to tell me,
That you were having a bad day.

I don't know what the problem is,
But I sure do know the cure
And if you'll only let Him
God will keep you safe and secure.

In life there's always problems
Cropping up to spoil our day
But my friend you know the answer
All you have to do is pray.

If you still feel you're defeated
And you want to run and hide
Just reach out and I'll be there
Standing right there by your side.

So remember, Whisper Jesus,
For He's just a prayer away,
He's so close that you can touch Him
All you have to do is pray.

I don't usally post in this spot but thanks for the post MRS GB. Yep HE is the reason for all things. I thank GOD for every breath. I lost my dad this year and it was very eye opening for me as to GOD's power. I get it now... I understand. Dad tried for years to show me the way to Christ but to little headway. During dad's long heart problems and the following complications from his 3rd heart valve op that eventually took that ol vet's life, I finally got it. Dad went to the LORD in Oct. but I told him about my relationship with the LORD before he died. He went knowing his only son was saved. I wish I would have come to HIM sooner.
Thanks MRS GB! It's Christmas eve and my dad's not with me for my 46th Christmas, my mom is trying to face her 47th Christmas alone. Other than Christmas ( Viet Nam in 68-69) we have always been together. I do believe we will all be together again.

volshooter, Thank you for sharing. Everytime I get down the Lord helps me find what I need to pick myself up again. This time it was a poem that help me to remember that all we have to do is pray and everything will be alright.

Faye;
I have never been to this forum until today. Why today? I think it is simple. I needed this today.

I know some of what you have dealt with and you know some of what I have also dealt with. Also, we both know WHO is responsible for our recoveries to this point. At one point, I felt life was just not worth living. Now I am thankful and grateful to God for allowing me each additional minute on this earth. I have no fear of dying because I know WHO holds my future and I know HE watches over me and holds my hand.

As the poem mentions: we all have days we need to be prayed for. For me, I need prayer every day. Not for healing, not for material things, not for myself, but that God will grant me wisdom to be able to see when someone else needs a "helping hand" of encouragement or any other thing that I am capable of doing that will make their day a little better or easier.

"Let not your heart be troubled".
Thanks Lady Graybeard for all you have done and meant to so many of us.

Rascal,

I thank the Lord each day that we have a place on GBO that we can come to when we are down and need a pick-me-up and I thank the Lord each day that I am able to share my love for Him with others.
