pardner pump barrel

do you have to have a pardner pump barrel fit at the factory. i am being told you have to. anyone know if this is true or not.

The Pardner Pump barrels do not need to be fitted to the receiver. 

I wanted a turkey barrel for mine, but they did not offer one.  I had about 6 inches cut off mine, retapped for chokes and dual beads (Mossberg style) installed.  Turned out nice and I am very happy.
