Leica Ultravid vs. Swarovski EL Binoculars

Hey guys, looking to buy myself a nice pair of binoculars as a Christmas present to myself :lol: From what i am hearing, the above two are about as good as they get. More than likely getting a 10x42 pair. Have heard excellent reports on Leica Ultravid. However, wanted to get some opinions from those of you that have knowledge of either pair or compared the two. As always, thank you for your help. miles

The Swarovski ELs are very expensive, but they are top of the line!  The resolution is just outstanding.  If money is no concern, then you can't do better than the ELs.

I've had a pair of El's 10x42 since this past May. Would not give them up. They are pricey. Although the top of the line Nikons are supposed to be just as optically equal to the europeans. Check out some of the bird watchers web sites for bino reviews.
