T3 lite owners
« on: January 01, 2011, 06:24:29 PM »
I need to find an owner of Tikka T3 Lites that have one of the long actions in 30-06 or the .270 win *and* the short action 7mm-08, .260 or .308. Reason being, I need to find out if the long action magazines will fit into the short action rifles. They are all the same action so they should be interchangeable. Need to verify this before I pay for an 06 magazine to accomodate the longer than .281 handloads I am making up.

From what I've read and saw the difference is in the block inside the magazine.  It make it so you have to push the case down either closer or further from the chamber.

This question has been answered before , just scrol down a few threads .
The magazine fits as the t3 's are long action , having a bolt stop differance for the short action . So if you load a long action clip in a short action the bolt would not come back far enough to pick up the cartridge .
I guess a smith could modify the lenght of the bolt stop - ----
So if you want to load closer to the lands It is to be loaded then as a single shot .With the Mag in place and used as a single shot you can feed this gun real quick . Saves time at the range .
From my experiance , once the gun is settled in and shows some good groups , just load to as it is limited to the mag , then be happy.
