Ok the cat is out of the bag , or uh the bag looked out the window. Was Nancy P's plane over flying the area on her way back to DC ? Maybe she looked out the window as she flew past a flock of birds . Maybe they saw her . Well some guy said they may have been scared to death !  ;D

This can't be true.  If it were the bodies would have been torn up much worse.   ;D

I still think it's a chemical release or terrorism.  If it's a chemical release, they've yet to find it.  If it's terrorism, the Gov will keep a tight lid on it in order to prevent panic in the US, hence causing the market to plummet once again.

That's my theory.
.
Pine Bluff, Arkansas.   How far are these bird and fish kills from Pine Bluff...? Prevailing wind and flight paths..? Flow of ground water and seismic activity of lately..?

..TM7

Beebe is at least 75 miles "as the crow flies" North of PB with Little Rock Metro area between the 2 which would have shown more problems & the fish kill much further. Naw, no connection there.

Day before yesterday there was over 500 all over the highway between New Roads and Morganza, La.--not too far north of Baton Rouge.  Same old bs--blunt force trauma.  Methinks someone lies.  Goatwhiskers

Blunt force trauma in the presence of a thunderstorm would indicate hail.
Fish could have been hailed on.
OH HAIL---I like to think it was a case of birds involved in a game of crash up derby.

A few years ago the West Nile Virus was dropping birds over the NE & Midwestern US, but as I remember it was mostly crows that died.  Also, I don't remember them dying in the numbers that are currently being reported.

I am very skeptical of what is reported in the media as the little cub reporters they send out aren't rocket scientists and are usually just concerned with being first with a story and not with providing a correct report.

If it is a toxin it will present in other species.  The smaller animals show signs first (canary in the coal mine theory) of stress but it would eventually impact larger animals.

West Nile effected any bird that eats carrion; hawks, owls, crows, vultures, etc.  These are red winged blackbirds, grackles, etc; SEED eating birds, not bug eaters or carrion eaters.  Birds can be effected by the unlikeliest things.  For example, if you have a bird in your house, you should know NOT to cook on teflonware in the same room as a bird.  I don't know what it is that is released but it is supposedly toxic to birds, yet humans, pet dogs, cats, lizards, and even fish are NOT effected by it.

The way I see it, either a bunch of crops or areas in which these birds forage have been poisoned, either intentionally or unintentionally.  (Perhaps where our newly planed crops for the coming year will be planted ???) OR, something has been released in the air or upper atmosphere, however, if an air contaminant, other birds (hawks, owls, ravens, nuthatches, warblers) would be effected as well.  The more I think of it, judging by the species reports I've seen, it's more than likely something that the birds ate on seed sources.  The fish kills could be coincidental or perhaps from watershed and run-off into waterways.   ???

Just read an updated article that states the birds had no food in their crops yet suffered from trauma.  I don't know these areas geographically, much less the local industry so maybe some of you might help that are local.  Are there any wind farms (windmills) within 50 miles of these areas?

If they're blaming fireworks for the disturbance, maybe some of the poor night vision birds such as Red wings took flight at night and flew into the wind towers (if there are any in the region).   ???

Now it's happened in Sweden too. The birds found in Ark. had blunt trauma to their breasts. My son and I were just talking and one thing we think could be the culprit is military testing of a weapon that uses shock or sound waves. With N. Korea rearing it's ugly head threatening a nuclear holocast it wouldn't surprise me if the U.S. is scrambling for a defensive weapon other than something nuclear. Not that far fetched a theory as you might think. The military sprayed chemicals over St. Louis back in the mid 50's just to test the effects. Every pet in the area developed tumors and who knows what it did to people. And that's not speculation but a documented fact and not the only case either. Trust me, the military thinks nothing of using citizens as guinea pigs. This bird and fish thing could easily be another example.

Blunt force trauma could be from a long fall too it seems. I've heard blunt force trauma, winter kill, stress, even that they hit power lines or ran into vehicles after dark. One news caster even suggested that it might be experiments by the godless ones for poisoning innocent Americans. I've never heard of any bird kill on this large a scale in my life and in several states, including here in Ky. I look forward to knowing the real reason. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

No, but it is less than 40 miles as the crow flies (or living blackbird) for the State Capital, so plenty of
windbags.

Good theory and very believable too.
I think I know of the weapon you're talking about.  Wasn't it once termed "hammer or Thor"?  Make sense to me but why is it only seed eating birds that are effected?  Whatever did it seems to be discriminant toward a certain type of bird.   ???

Whatever it is, I'm sure we'll never get a real answer because it's someone doing something that the general public does not like.

just a thought here but i remember seeing red wing black birds in cat tails by swamps and marshes and the fish are in the water maybe the drum fish is a weaker one and all that oil that spewed out in the water this year could be to blame. the red wing black bird eats seeds that have grown in the oil that was not cleaned up so good. either way we may never know the truth of the matter. oh and by the way the red wing black bird doesnt eat well any way.

Maybe it was residual thrust from that missle that didn't take off from offshore California just now reaching Ark.  :-\  And we're just about as likely to get an valid answer from the gub'ment on the birds as we did on the missle.   ::)  But, people forget...  :-\  quickly!   :(

I see what you're saying but if it were the oil spill that's responsible for this, then there would be thousands of various waterfowl effected as well.  This just doesn't make sense, especially in light of the fact that Spirithawk has reported an incident in Sweden.

The large quantities of dead birds are in at least 3 states. Not just redwigs bbirds, also grackels, reg bbirds, even cowbirds. Can't think of the other one but I believe there are 5 species mentioned. They seem to have died as a group, not individually. Several hundred found on the Murray State University here in KY.  POWDERMAN.  :o :o

It seems that what we're really talking about is the result of a slow news day.  Events like this have happened many times in the past, but just weren't reported as much.  Common sense would tell you that if it were an illness, all of the birds wouldn't succumb simultaneously.  As far as the military testing a weapon; anything is possible, but that is a bit of a stretch except for those who still believe 9-11 was George Bush's fault.

Lets say that back around 1950 you asked the residents of St. Louis, Mo. as to their thoughts that the U.S. military would spray toxic chemicals over their city. Wanna bet that they would have said that's a far out stretch of your imagination? But in the mid 50's the military did just that beyond any doubt. It wasn't brought to light untill the 70's or so but it was reported on the St. Louis news channels and in the papers. A lot of guys stationed on  USAF SAC Bases during the Vietnam era can tell you, myself included, that there are a lot of things the military is up to, that you'd never dream of, nor ever be likely to know and that would scare the pants off you. Giving guys LSD without their knowledge just to moniter the results, giving other experimetal drugs as well also without the recipitents knowledge nor consent. As well as experiments right out of a science fiction movie. In Basic Training at Lackland AFB they gave my Flight, 50 men, a tiny little yellow pill. Told us it was to prevent the Flu. Within an hour we all broke out in severe rashes all over our bodies. Broke into sweats and all 50 were confined to bed and the flight quarinteened. Took a week to clear up and once we were able to talk to others on base we learned that we were the only Flight on the whole base to be given that pill. Sure it was for the Flu. Believe that and, in your own words,  you'll likely believe Bush was to blame for 911! The crap happens and they rely on the fact that most people think, " Oh it's just a stretch of someone's imagination."

I haven't heard this theory on this incidence, but it sounds like the birds were caught in an updraft and if they were carried up to 30,000 ft. they would have lung damage, die and fall like a rock.  Hitting something on the ground would definitely indicate blunt force trauma.   We had thunderstorms and tornadoes in the state around that time, which often cause updrafts.

The problem with that is simple. It happened in many differant locations. Not just in the US but other countries as well and all within a few days of each other. One would think there has to be a common link. Plus, an updraft has no effect on the thousands of fish also killed.

I haven't read the following information myself but heard it from a friend this afternoon.  Apparently, over the course of the past 33 years, there have been 16 reported cases where masses of red-winged blackbirds "fall from the sky" to their death.  It only makes sense to be in Arkansas since one of the larger, if not the largest populations of migratory red-wings winter there.  So maybe this is just a natural occurrence for the red-wings, but what about the rest of the birds?

As for the previous post: again, a storm and updraft would carry all different species of birds, not just "blackbirds" and seed eaters.  Where are they?

My answer sounds more like a science fiction movie. I saw one years ago that radio waves or something mixed up their homing mechanism and ran them into things. Granted, this is different places and species, so not that likely.

I am going with the sonic testing. What a great way to test the effectiveness of such equipment, then scanning with satellites where large groups of birds or fish are located, sending some sort of frequency or sonic something-or-other, to see if it works. Kinda like how a dog whistle only works on dogs.

Could these 'beams or waves' have been sent from a satellite? Ground? Other places? of course. Highly suspicious and too coincidental for natural causes.

Animals act differently when the earth does weird things, earth quakes, hurricanes, volcanoes. But no doubt this is testing from something.

My theory:
It could be the many space ships that are invisible hoovering above us waiting for a good time to strike.
Getting our frequency down.

Beam me Up Scotty! I'm ready to go home! LOL ;D

I tried being reasonable, I didn't like it.   - Clint Eastwood
