I've seen several references to all these birds being in the new madrid fault line but nobody seems to know how an earthquake can kill thousands of FLYING birds. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

It could be the magnetic pole shifts occuring.  They had to close some airports in Florida to realign their instruments because of the magnetic pole shifts.

http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/01/06/magnetic-north-pole-shifts-forces-closure-florida-airport/

They have discovered parts of migratory birds brains that rely on magnetic north to migrate.  Maybe fish also have this to return to their native rivers to spawn.  The poles have also shifted in past earth's history.  Between this and radio, tv, cell phones, and microwaves, too much stuff going on.

The military experiments hit home with me. In the fifties they released radio active matter into
the atmosphere in the Hanford area of Washington state. Their goal was to "see where it will go".
It spread over a large area including north central Oregon. People I went to school with contracted
cancer at an alarming rate. The common denominator is that they lived on ranches in the area,
eating produce from their gardens and milk from their cows. There was a program in later years to
"study the effects of released radiation on downwinders". I know they started the study but never
heard of any result. I doubt if I will ever hear any more from them.

Exactly what I was saying. I have no reason to believe that the military is not still conducting tests, without our knowledge, that very much have direct effects on our lives. To believe otherwise is nothing more than hiding your head in the sand. They've done so for years with little or no repremands so what makes anyone think they'd stop now? Sure all these mysterious deaths are just natural and happen all the time. I'm 57 years old and a life long outdoorsman, and I know some here are even older. So any of you heard of this many deaths of wildlife, birds and fish before? All in such a short period? I sure as hell haven't! Natural my Cherokee behind!

Can't say as I have either...  :-\  But then I don't pay much attention to the news nowadays.  All I know from my lifelong experiences is that all living things die, and all things die from a cause.  These deaths occur at random times.  We know not and all that.   ;)

Hi ebbeer, and day always be a hi ebber  ;D  I can't think of anything natural that would cause the simultanious deaths of large numbers of creatures; fish or birds.   :-\  A volcano or asteroid maybe, but the deaths resulting from those incidents would be indiscriminate, not confined to one or a few species.  And those natural causes would be obvious to the extream.

Here we have thousands of birds (all black) falling from the sky and thousands of fish (all one species of bottom feeder) floating to the surface and all the best scientific minds money can buy can tell us is, for the birds anyway, "they were scared to death."   ::)

Well, I think that is just about as plausable as my theories!  For Birds) Aliens are testing a weapon that will only work on people with dark skin; and for bottom feeeding fish) Same aliens, bend on taking over the government, are testing a weapon that will only work on lawyers.

Natural!?  natural my English/Irish behind!   :D

Now, where the heck is that new roll of tin foil?   :-\

When I was a kid this part of the country was over run with English sparrows. There were billions of them. Then they developed some sort of diseases or so they said, but there are no more English sorrows.
I can remember black birds falling dead like this before. I don't think it is as rare occurrence as some think!

Over in Fort Smith, AR., they are saying the fireworks scared those birds to death.   If that were true, then they should be on the extinct list by now.   Farmers down here in the bottom farmland have been using big 'BOOM' machines to keep the birds scared away from their crops for years, and it hasn't scared one bird to death yet.   "BOOM" ; "BOOM"; "BOOM" !!!!!!   :o :o

I still think it's a chemical release or terrorism.  If it's a chemical release, they've yet to find it.  If it's terrorism, the Gov will keep a tight lid on it in order to prevent panic in the US, hence causing the market to plummet once again.

That's my theory.

NOPE!! I'm not sure about other places in the world experiencing the same problem, but in Arkansas, and after watching the football game against the Buckeyes, I hear the birds were dropped by the Razorback wide receivers  :o

Let me put it this way. Once you learn first hand that both the U.S. Government and the U.S. Military think nothing of using U.S. Citizens, domestic animals and wildlife as guinea pigs then when something this unusual happens it's not hard to suspect their hand in it. Not saying they're the cause but sure as heck aren't ruling them out either!

they died of Blunt force trauma it says. either they
hit something in the air or they died on impact with the ground.
Speculation is that fireworks sent them aloft from the trees and bigger fireworks
stunned them enough to fall to their deaths.

Keep in mind that when something like this happened 20 and 30 years ago, it might have made local news but was probably not part of the national...it was not the computer age then.  I do remember an incident in the 80's when living in North Louisiana of a major black bird die off.  Heck, my uncle used to raise bobwhite quail....lost all of them to disease in one day...he had 75 to 100 birds.  That is not to say that our loving Govt would not stoop to something like this...not the first time, not the last.

I remember when I was a youngster, I'd been hunting with an old bolt action 16ga shotgun, and walked up on 117 dead starlings and blackbirds.  :o

About 500 had been feeding in a low area in the field and I snuck up on'em and blasted 2 rounds into that mob. ;D

About those 1,000's of Turtle Doves that fell dead in Italy;
This morning's News said it was from indigestion of eating too many sunflower seeds.   That sounds ridiculous to me.   Thousands ?   These birds always fill their 'Crop' 'Craw' if they can when they eat.  Just like chickens do.   Now I did witness several geese once that had eaten raw bisquits right out of the can.   They began to stagger and then 'poof' their behinds blew right out and they dropped dead.  Fortunately, the owner didn't loose all of them.

The truth is that the only change that has happened in our atmosphere is from people cutting down on carbon dioxide through mandated carbon sequestration by industry and other laws and efforts to eliminate carbon dioxide emission.

It’s the lack of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere that is causing the die-offs around the world. The plant life, plankton and such in the ocean depend on Co2 to survive. Fish depend on the plant food and the sea mammals depend on the fish, and up the food chain it goes, explaining the fish and sea mammal die off.

The change in the composition of the air in our atmosphere with less Co2 effects the breathing of all who breath the air to survive. Less Co2 and more oxygen in the air causes respiratory problems in the birds especially with heavy excurtion like when birds are migrating during the change of seasons. As opposed to nesting times of the year. Thus you get the internal injuries and bleeding the necropsy results showed in the birds. The birds are the first to exhibit the ill effects in the air much like the birds miners used to use in the mines to detect minute amounts of poison gas in the air. If Co2 sequestration continues, we will be next! Starting with our children and the weakest among us first!!!

Al Gore and all the other evironmental idiots and politicians are killing us and the planet with their lies about “man caused global warming”. THEY ARE KILLING US ALL!!!!

Now if I could just get a bigger platform to sell this crap, make a scary video and get a few unscrupulous scientists on line, I could get rich. Just like Gore and all the others!!….. ;D
