Barrel etchings ???

Has anybody bought any handi's lately which have silver colored
etchings (numbers and letters) on the side of the barrel lug ??
Was wondering what they mean. Thanks, reclusej

 Should be the last digits of the reciever they came on.

  Right, they match the receiver number and look like they were written with one one those vibrating engraver pens.
