Is #4 the model of sight or rifle? What kinda sight is it?

OK pretty sure I now know the sight you are talking about. I have a bunch of them I picked up at a gunshow years ago thinking they might come in handy one day. At the time I had the rifle they fit and didn't have a rear sight. When I found a guy with several I just bought the lot.

So now what is it you want to know about them?

Graybeard,

Basically I would like to know some history on the rear sight. The rifle I am talking about appears to be a variation of a military trainer. The following link shed some light on this rifle, it belongs to a friend who would like to know the history. The fromt sight is a 4 blade type as described in the description the link affords.

Thanks for your replys.
