Ruger 7mm #1A bicentennial
« on: January 06, 2011, 01:14:05 PM »
Hi guys, I was hoping some of you guys in this forum may be able to help me. I recently purchased a Ruger #1A bicentennial in a 7mag. The Gun is in atleast 98% condition. I have tried to get an estimated value on the gun but haven't had much luck. The gun listing books i have looked in did not list the 7 mag in a #1A. Not looking to sell the gun just wanting to get a idea of what it was worth. Thanks in advance for any help.

Whatever you paid for the rifle is perhaps what it is worth. A 7mm Mag with
a 22" barrel is not very common because of the muzzle blast. Usually the #1
7mag comes in a 26" barrel. Myself I would buy a rifle like that only for the action and the stock. $500 max. depending on stock wood.

Any #1 in good shape is worth at least $700.  Don't have my reference handy to check the whole variation/chambering aspect.  For the most part, unless it's NIB, the "200th year..." aspect adds very little to nothing.
