This current administration has a differant agenda.
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2010/02/obama-says-safe-nuclear-power-plants-are-a-necessary-investment.html

The agenda is called nuclear power.
Which will do little to reduce our need for oil. Certainly not in the short .
term. The obama strategy is a failure

the biggest problem with nuclear power is the radioactive waste that we have to deal with for the next 100,000 years, and that hardest problem with that is finding enough places that are environmentally stable to safely store it,  especailly if it takes off big time and they have more to store.

The agenda is called nuclear power.

It would be more accurate of you to say that Obama's agenda INCLUDES nuclear power. The term "agenda" includes the thought of multiple ideas, many of whom can compete so well with each other as to render the agenda impotent, or in fact make the situation worse. The beauty of talking about nuke power is that it will take so long to roll out, all you have to do is talk about it and we'll put you in for a prize, even if you never deliver a single watt. The other points of his agenda will take far less time to implement, and include artificially increasing the price of fuel at the american pump in the short term in order to motivate the masses to buy into any relief idea he puts forward.

Yes, agenda implies multiple actions/initiatives. Even on the Nuke as one of the agenda items, I'd like to know what nuke plant deal has been sealed since Obama took office? The answer ZERO! According the IAEA, there is 1 nuke plant under construction in the US and that deal was brokered before O took office. Compared to China who has 27 under construction, Russia:11  India:5, Korea:5 and the list dwindles from there.

The real fact is Obama has done literally nothing, to address the energy question. His actions have simply been targeted at reducing the harvest of fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas). He has done nothing to address a real reduction in consumption and nothing to secure our need for imported oil while our domestic sources are being shut down. He is simply taking the eco Nazi stance of reduce production, that will raise the price of fuel & electricity and consumption will decline because people won’t want to pay a higher price and that will ring-in Green initiatives such as wind, solar, hydro, hybrids, act. That’s the strategy. He said he was going to create a "Green Economy" and he's going to do it even if it drives us into the bankrupsy in the process and 20% unemployment. But he will be able to tell us he created the Green Jobs promised!

Cabin Have you been dormant for the last three years or what? You said "Thanks to the Obama admistration gas will be $4.00 soon". Let it be known right now that I am neither a Re. or Demo. because I think neither has the best interest in mind for our country.I do remember when it was $4.00 here in S.Texas (under Bush) and then two months before the election, like a miracle, went down to $1.69 a gallon. Is this hard to figure out?Did the Chinese suddenly quit driving? Did the "speculators" get tired of making money? And like I said,I am lover of neither but I can't ignore what is happening right in front of my face.Think before you speak because there is something more "evil" than Obama going on.

+1 on that!! Let us know when you figure it out!

One very important difference about this administration is that the current Energy Czar has gone on public record as saying that he would like to "artificially" inflate the price of gas to the consumer in order to motivate them to support green energy initiatives. He points to europe as a model, of course there's was not artificial. This is the guy who advises the President on energy policy, and would help shape if not write the administration's energy agenda.

I don't remember Bush having an Energy Czar, and actually the Sec of DOE under his administration I don't believe ever went on record in favor of artificial adjustments to the pump prices to support the agenda. Please correct me if I'm wrong about that.

Drove my truck yesterday and the fuel gage was down to 1/4 tank.  Stopped at the Tesoro truck stop to fill up, they have the lowest price on diesel in town $3.89.  It cost $114.00 to fill my tank.  I don't have the option of riding my motorcycle when the roads are covered with ice seven months of the year.  It's strictly 4X4 period.

OH, Obama's administration is doing something alright.  They keep messing with oil companies trying to drill here in the US.  Shell just announced they are halting drilling in thge Beaufort sea, too many road blocks since Obama took office.  There is less and less oil being pumped through the pipeline.  That means the more we have to import, and higher prices here in the US.

I find it funny that when Bush was if office everyone was down and on him and his administration because they were oil men.  Well, it is getting worse for Obama.  He isn't an oil man.  He honestly seems like he just doesn't care.  Of  course why would he?  He doesn't drive anywhere.  My tax dollars fuel his limos, helicopters and jets.

yes, as I said in my earlier post, the only thing they are doing is to initiate efforts to reduce our supply so prices go up in the hopes that Americans will use less becasue we don't want to pay the high price. Its the Eco Nazi strategy of no sun, wind, nuke, ethynol or hydro power expansion. To the Eco Nazi's, alternative means of power all have negative impacts on the environment is some way, with the slight exception of some of the sun applications.

Oil prices took a sharp roller coaster ride due to Suez Canal , Egypt stability and Iran warships heading for canal.
Least that's what Drive by media was reporting.

I guess any excuse they can sell to public to drive up cost per Barrel is a good one.

It's still below $3 a gallon here in central Oklahoma.
From what I understand it's cheapest in Missouri right now.

I just called to have my oil tank filled. So I can expect to pay over $1000 for 350 gal. That will be a nice bill along with spring local taxes, Fed. taxes, and state taxes, due soon.

I do think that many, along with the environmentalists what to see higher prices so everyone rushes out to buy the new government motors volt.

mabe china would settle for all the untapped oil in this country in trade for settling our debt to them..then they would really have the planet earth as thier country..they wouldn t have to fire a shot..
at least china [though an absolute gov t] is working for chinas interest..i remember when this country use to do that..although the memory is fading daily..
oh well the the creator is still in the process of doing his laundry..although the process, is probably gonna be very painful to us all.
just make the best of today ,, in your place an i ll try to do the same..wish you all a good day..
ps gas jumped 8 cent yesterday ,where i live..if you got trips planned ,,do it now..especially if
you are on a fixed income as i am..the days of just going out for a ride are coming to an end ,im thinking..unless of course you got a good ten speed bike or something.. :)
