$3.79 at two stations here. $3.83 at two others. I'll go to the reservation tomorrow to fill up. Usually .19 to .21 cents cheaper there.

I think there are several reasons for the lower gas prices. One is the world economies are down from 4 years ago. Two, the winter is somewhat warmer than normal and thus less heating oil is needed. Three, more ethynol is being used. Also, more CNG (compressed natural gas). My company is in the process of converting ALL our company vehicles to CNG, which is about 100 vehicles.

First time I've seen it under $3 in a long time in Minnesota. Ranging 2.89 to 2.99. Diesel is under $4 for the first time in a long time, around $3.89. I can't keep as close an eye on diesel anymore because a lot of the gas stations don't post it anymore so it's visible from the road.

I would love to see diesel under 4$ . Makes it tough to run tractor and complete chores. Still over 4$ here.

Retail prices are affected by more than just transportation from the refinery. Real estate prices and property taxes, local business and income taxes, insurance costs, labor, utilities, economies of scale, location, etc.

I had a closer look at the receipt of my last stop for fuel..................HANG ON to your HAT !!

I bought in US gal

2.65 gal of Diesel for $ 14.50
That works out to $ 5.48/gal

Part of the $ 14.50 are three separate taxes which came to $3.82

Add

4.76 gal of Regular Gasoline for $25.01
That works out to $4.76/gal
Again there are three separate taxes on this purchase totaling $ 7.83

From my total bill of $ 39.23 a whopping $ 11.65 are for Tax.
