Powderman the oil company profits from gasoline accounts for 6% of their total sales. It seems a fact often left out by MSNBC. We must always remember that the left wing press and tax hunger poiticians always hedge on the truth when blaming free enterprize for their spending. I am more concrened with a President who sends 2 millon dollars to South American Socialist to drill off shore for oil that Sorroes sells to China. Obama then cuts or drilling and off shore production by 142 millon barrels a day. Connect the dots.  ???

When it costs FIFTY BUCKS to fill a Ford Escort wagon, something is wrong.

Hey Sidewinder, try $2 billion (not $2 million) and I'm not so sure it was just handed out--more likely in the form of a loan from the International Monetary Fund, or some such mechanism.  As some have said, it's probably a George Soros project.

Anyway, I'm expecting our local stations to push the price per gallon as high as they can in anticipation of the price dropping a little.  It looks like all the cut rate stations are trying to catch up with what the high priced stations charge.

I didn't know that there was such a thing as a running ford escort wagon.

you've not paid attention. There's lots of 'em; Ford sold about as many wagons as sedans, some years. And they're a deal: cheap to buy, cheap to operate & maintain, handle good, and look nice. Not as refined in the motor as the better imports, but it's a non-interference design - never have to worry about destroying it if the timing belt breaks.

Topping it all off... you can carry a lot in one, too, without even putting the seats down...

I've always thought of the Escort as being one of the best cars ever made. Very durable, reliable and economical given reports by friends and acquaintances who own them. And lots of room in the wagon configuration for hauling stuff, considering its a small car. Still see lots of them on the road. I have rented them during winter in the snowy north and they handled very well.

The new Focus that I believe replaces it is really nice. I've rented them and like it a lot. Good handling, comfortable, good design. Haven't tried the wagon, but I have looked at them and they are nice too.

What an amazing world we live in. The Obama "Band Of Blunders", passed a nation breaking finance bill to support the UAW.  Their Liberal supporters claimed it saved or already broke nation. Can you believe it the only car company who refused the handout was Ford. Damn they came up with a family car that was reliable and could be used to carry a small deer home. Does that mean American free enterprize really works, I wonder. ???

We've been seeing a drop too, about $3.70 for gas and $4 for diesel. The price is now only twice what it was two and a half years ago when Obama was elected.

Those prices are slow to come back down.
I checked Gas Buddy and low in Oklhoma is $3.29.
I still see some out there in the $3.89 range.
60 cent spread. Wow! So much for selling on margins arguments.

Diesel peaked at 4.19 here as the cheapest in town. Now it's fallen back to 4.05 and I drove by a station today that just went down to 3.97. But they say the annual summer price hike is coming...............

Down to $4.15 now. They raise the price jelly quick; but, lower it slowly like molasses in January.

I've never noticed the price fluctuate so wildly before. Over a period of a few weeks it inched back down from 4.19 to 3.99 and then in one or two days it dropped 20 cents to 3.79.....Naturally, right after I bought fuel at 3.99!   :'(
It makes no sense to me! But at least it's headed in the right direction, for now, even if it is for the wrong reasons. I heard our braindead president opened up the 'reserves' instead of opening up the oil fields!
Eventhough it does take a while for fresh American oil to hit the market, speculators would do what they do and the price of fuel would go down imediately.
Saudi Arabia is claiming they are running out of oil, China is making deals for oil all over the world, Brazil is drilling like crazy, (even in the Gulf with our money and president backing them), and we are just setting on ours.........It makes no sense at all!    >:(

If you throw George Soros into the mix, some of what is going on starts to make sense.  I wouldn't rule out an Obama/Soros joint venture into market manipulation for political and back pocket improvement.

SADDLEBUM. Makes perfect sense if the goal is to destroy America, which is the obaminations goal.
6 weeks ago gas was $4.29, yesterday it was $3. 36. All because obama has tapped OUR ntl reserve for 60 million bbls. I thought was for a military emergency. He is just Further disarming us. POWDERMAN.  >:( >:(
