$3.53 on base in Norfolk VA today, up .15 in the past few days alone.

We moved here from HI in November, and so far it seems like all the prices are the same ... when we left for HI over 5 years ago, things were so very much cheaper. We expected to come back to that and have yet to find it. Food and fuel prices are way up if you look at my budget for the past 6 mos, which is why the WH doesn't use them in their economic reports ... it would mean the economy is actually far worse, not better as they'd like to claim.

In Port Huron/Fort Gratiot, MI the price goes from 3.79 to 3.99 per gallon. The canadians still cross the bridge in droves to buy it.

Up to about 3.75/3.80 today. A significant jump since yesterday. I guess that means people will be relieved when the price mysteriously comes down just before the election.

4.65 yesterday as I filled my tank.
Looking back over these posts for the year and 3 months it has been her I have had a 27% price increase for me.
The other side of it is that a barrel of OIL has been this high before but the fuel has not.
Before any of the Democratic sheep yell Company Profits or Speculators like the party line sheet says.  The added costs are to meet the EPA rules and paper work that OBAMA has ordered.
If they can not tax the fuel to the $5 a gallon the President said he wanted to get us out of cars and away from fossil fuels he needs to do it with regulations.  The regulations go from the refineries to the local supplier and every point inbetween.
The paper work adds man hours and as we all know Labor is expensive as we don't do things for free.

Yep, when this started over a year ago it was $3.09, not it is in the high $3 to $4 range.  No, we don't have inflation.  .  I pay $3.69 for gas here in Alabama, but recently went to Illinois and had to pay $4.15.  Check out your food prices..mine have gone up 25% in one year.

It akes fuel to get the food from the farm to the stores and feed from the fields to the farms to feed the cows and chickens.  I do not know if the EPA has paper work to count cow and chicken poop and gases from them but I would not be surprised that adds to the costs.

  The irony of it all;

This link was posted as recently as January 7th... and the $3.09 seemed high to some...

Now, in April, it would come with a welcome price to all of us.. ;)

Hit 3.89 for unleaded, and 4.09 for diesel. It's about 3.80 now for unleaded.

The post was started in January of 2011, so it's been here over a year. Probably gets a record for the longest time active or most posts for a non-sticky post. Fuel costs are certainly on my mind, and apparently on others' minds too.

Oops, my bad..didn't take note of the year..
Still, $4 vs $1.79 ..just 3.5 years ago is a choker too..   The idea of $8-$10 for gas is a bit chilling for a mostly retired guy.
Not just the gasoline but the necessary rise in the cost of everything else from food to clothing to hardware...everything !

I was emailed a note this am... From someone who was fed up with these prices and the Obama administration. It said something like fuel cost was $1.80 gal two years ago  November... Today it's almost $4 and rising. Said to top 5$+ come summer... How do you like the "change"?  Remember when you vote in November 2012.... I got a chuckle...

Hmmm... under the Obamanites, gasoline prices have risen more than what it's total price was 2 years ago.
.....Looks like it's right on schedule for what obama's Secretary of Energy wanted the day he was appointed..$10.00 per gal
