If there is an answer, we'll never hear of it.  We will hear lots of speculation though.
Being concerned will give a man ulcers.

I saw on TV yesterday, that Yellowstone National Park is an active volcano.  Said it has more hot spots and geisers than any other place in the world.  I saw a satelite pic of it's huge lake back in 2004 when the lake (normally around 45F) got so hot all the fish died, but officials said there isn't anything to worry about. Duh ~  When it blows it'll only wipe out a 600 mile radius initially.

They are not worried about mass autism, why should they worry about birds?

Did you guys miss the part of the report that said that these bird kills have been happening for years and there is nothing extraordinary about it?  It could be something like mass hysteria, or the airborne version of lemmings...mother nature's way of limiting the poopulations.  In humans I believe it is called socialism, communism, or liberalism.

If that's the case then do you not think it just a tad strange that not a single one of us has ever heard of it happening before? I watch the news, read the papers, I'm 57 and been an outdoorsman all my life. This is all new to me. Do you honestly believe the Government or the military would admit involvement were that the case? I know for a fact they do experiments that could cause such things and even when caught they deny, deny, deny! If they told you it was aliens would you believe that too, just because they said so?

The previous reports I can recall were near the arctic, where these die offs are common because of weather. For example, 75% of the north American musk ox population starved one recent year because of rain that later froze and made a barrier preventing the oxen from feeding. Or storms that kill huge  numbers of birds.

Farther south the fall red tides wil kill many fish.

Other fish kill reports I can recall were all related to chemical spills or farm runoff.

Rabbits and grouse have their mysterious population cycles, but no body is comparing these recent events to such cycles.

These latest reports are not consistent with anything I have previously read or experienced.

If it is true that these die offs are common, then let's see some credible documentation of previous recent such events. What, for example happened like this last year? And the year before? Simply saying these are common is insufficient as a credible argument.

Well let's get real conspiratorial.  How many of you actually saw the bird kills?  Oh I know they showed a few dead birds on tv, but that could have been faked.  I've never seen a whale beach itself and I've never witnessed lemmings jumping off a cliff, so I'm not convinced anything like this ever happened.  And if it did it was the military doing experiments, or the government up to its old tricks.

All I'm saying is that while some might think it's foolish to suspect the military and government, it's even more foolish to believe that they both couldn't and wouldn't be involved. A lot of folks have died of cancer that trusted both. Tell their families how foolish they are now.

I'm 63 years old and have never, ever heard of bird kills of this magnitude in so many places with various climates and temps. We discussed this in Church this morning. It's entirely possible that God is trying to wake us up and is showing us just how fragile our own lives are, and how quickly we could be called home, and maybe make folks question their own readiness for meeting him. Could be, don't know, but very possible. POWDERMAN.  :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\

Bottom line is that we don't know the cause and one guess is as good as another. Thus ruling one out, or in, without proof is a bit foolish. Just remember, there was a time when those that thought the world was round were called heritics! Believing too quickly in a reason, without proof, is justifiable just how?

The only birds I have ever seen fall out of the sky had help from a shotgun.  This is weird.
