I would personally prefer that they release a 6.8 SPC spec II but since this would a better match for cast bullets and I've only got ~1 tonne of surplus lead, I'm in

Sounds like the 30 Apache from back in the '80s(?); it was supposed to perform way out of proportion to its size. I like the idea but also prefer rimmed cartridges.
Irrational, maybe, but what is there with any of these things that is entirely rational; but I digress.....

In all honesty, my liking the 300 Blk is that the AR15 in 223 is not a good cast shooter.
Getting an AR setup and having a handi both 300 blk is an idea -- maybe not at the same time ......but in the end have both.Then the higher priced dies are off set with having two ... and the Handi loaded down would be a plinker / small game hunter.....Full power would be a short / mid range deer gun.. The small case, and a Survivor Buttstock for me please !
I do agree that a 30-30 or 32-20 could fill the bill with a rimed case...if there is no AR in your plan...
Those with 7.62 x 39 Handi's could say the same thing.. But will not sell / or trade.....If the 300 BLK are made right - it will be a keeper/ at a very good Handi price..
I don't agree that the folks that have a 300 whisper in a TC are unhappy -- there may be a few ,,,, there is not a lot of used barrels for sale cheap...I belive most are happy -- or sell them to someone willing to pay fast, - Dan

The samples will be made with iron sights.

I looked at the BC and it was nice but it was beside the Dakota Arms at the Shot Show and I sort of want a 375 H&H Safari Rifle now.

The Dakota 375 is a very nice rifle, but I would bet you won't sit down at the range and shoot say 100 rounds out of it. I have a 376 Steyr on a mauser 98 action while it is great, the recoil keeps me from shooting it alot. Now a nice little handi rifle with something about 30 caliber that could be loaded with subsonic long for caliber bullets, I just might spend an afternoon at the bench or it might be a great woods walking gun.

Got a 300-221 in an AR. Hunted with it for a few years, and killed a lot of pigs and deer with it, though nothing that weighed much over 200 lbs. Great cartridge if you realize its limitations, and I would buy an H&R in that caliber in a heartbeat. The threaded barrel would be a plus.

The 338 MX would be more likely since Marlin is already tooled up for it, but even it hasn't happened, either would be very welcome just to get a .338" bored Handi!

I've had a 338-06 A-Square Ultra for several years, was my first rebored H&R.

Remington doesn't appear to have any interest in it from it's absence on their caliber listing page.

For those of you thinking along the lines of a 30/357max., here is something for you to drool over. Had it made over 20yrs ago. Body a little shorter than the 357mag and a 30-30 length neck. Used it in IHMSA. Actually designed it for Coors Schutzenfest in the 80's

It worked out very well in IHMSA

It worked very well in IHMSA. Will have to look for my reloading data to see if I have any velocity data. If not, will try and pull out my TCR barrel and see what it will do.

Here is a photo of what was made. I intended for the stocks to be the ultralight black plastic, and they were made with wood. But we can get some black plastic and then show them both ways and see what people prefer.

This rifle will be at the BuckoRama hunting show in Atlanta starting tomorrow afternoon.

The way I see this happening is AAC having a run of the rifles made, and distributing them - so that would make it hard for the factory to have this part of that program.

I wouldn't mind having a suppressed rifle, but not bad enough to pay $600-$800 for one, I can save my hearing with custom hearing devices for less and use them with any firearm.
