TrackerII question

Can you run regular shot or buckshot through this rifled barrel?  Has anyone done so and with what results?  Thanks

You can but the patterns are spread wide by the rifling and the rifling gets very dirty with excessive lead buildup very quickley, making slugs shot from it very inaccurate. If you want a slug gun you can shoot shot and buckshot from look around for a Tracker I (smoothbore)....<><....:)

Since I don"t really need this to slug hunt, a tracker I would be good for what i want to use, to shoot any loads.  I think I can find one locally in our shop.

If you don't need it to slug hunt why get a Tracker I? Just get a Pardner or a Topper (same gun, either has NEF or H&R on the reciever). The difference is a Tracker I has rifle sights on it and a Pardner or Topper just has a bead front sight primarily for shooting shotgun shells loaded with shot. You can also shoot buckshot and slugs if you desire. Think about the distance you will shoot most and look for a gun with the choke which will be best for you, cylinder, modified, or full. If you tell us what you want it for I am sure you will get some suggestions of what will suit your needs the best....<><....:)

Many here have set up Pardners or Toppers to shoot just about anything through them. I shoot everything from trap loads to buckshot and slugs through my 20ga. with mod. choke and if need be the 20 ga. can be drilled and tapped for a scope. Inexpensive and versatile, what more could you ask for in a $125.00 gun. JamesIII

I already have 3 single h&r's.  Have found this tracker I at the local shop for $179 new.  That's why the interest.

If you found a new Tracker I buy it. They are not being made anymore and have quite a following as a great hunting, defense, and do it all shotgun. If it's a Tracker II like you started this thread about and you want to shoot shot shells or even regular foster style slugs through it, I suggest you reconsider....<><....:)

Wow, a new Tracker I !!!! I have also run across H&R's that were 5 yrs. old or more and NIB. I would pick it up, if you have any doubts later you can easily sell it here. Or, you could just tell us the name of the shop and we could have a race!!!  JamesIII

i got a tracker 1 for a all around gun that I could use for slugs during deer season and bird shot during the rest of the year and I love this gun. I would reccomend it especially if you only need to shoot deer up to 100 yards. i seen one brand new on a website couple weeks ago. It was in its origonal box never fired for $179.00. I got my at a pawn shop for 105.00 and it was in 95% shape barely ever fired. If you see a tracker 1 get it because there only going to get harder and harder to come by.
