1895gunner did your gun come that way with the shorter barrel or did you have it cut?

Allow me to answer that for him. That is an Outfitter, 444 Marlin, straight from the factory with a ported 18 1/2 inch barrel, straight grip, Ballard rifleing.

If you will look at the Marlins he owns, you will see he kinda likes them short ported barrels.

The porting really does keep the muzzle rise in check on these sweet rifles, but they are louder for anyone standing around you when you touch em off.

I don't notice any more noise when I shoot mine, but my kids sure get back when I'm ready to shoot.
